I've decided I suck at stenciling. I used freezer paper and a thick fabric paint, but it made its way under the stencil here and there anyway. there's just no winning. I'm going back to shelf liners.
I fixed the real bad spots (the F was really screwed up) with some black paint which I hope works out after its been set and washed!
I have a taker for it if my brother-in-law doesn't like it, so I'm not too down about it.

not even December yet...
and the tree is up - but I'm only a few days early, so it's all good ;)
really, my nutcrackers are what I like to get out asap :)
I tried to make my own version of that ornament I got a little while back. I think it came out looking like cheese :P but it's getting more and more difficult to make tiny things anymore - this is only 1½" - I think I'll try again.
I have plenty of time since it's not even December yet ;)

ships that go sailing
finally did the pop-up!
I filled it with "color" (pics I stole off the internet), cut it out, put it together and...
...now I dunno what to do with it ;) but I think it came out good.

boy, oh boy
my best friend is having a baby in January, and the shower is coming up.
I skimmed through her registry and decided on a changing theme - changing pad, wipes, powder, butt paste, etc... - I saw some pee pee teepee's in an online shop, and thought they were cute and figured it went well with my theme, so I decided to give them a go.

I did a search for instructions on how to make them (not that they're difficult or anything, just needed some basic guidelines - size, shape, whathaveyou) and found a good one at Little Birdie Secrets.
I altered it a bit so it was easier for me. I think they turned out great, and hardly took any time at all.
I found a sheer draw-string bag to put them in so it's a little see-through for the poem I added :)
don't worry if he tinkles
you'll avoid shooting sprinkles
if you put on a little teepee
you won't get hit with pee pee

pop-ups
I've decided I wanna try to make a pop-up book. I've been looking online at different how-to's and then I found David A. Carter. WOW. I love his books.
I was confident I could do the pop-up's themselves, I was just hung up on thinking I needed to do really cool illustrations and have a nifty little story - now I'm a little more excited about tackling it :) but I would like to do something really cool like a Robert Sabuda & Matthew Reinhart Alice's Adventures In Wonderland or The Wonderful Wizard of Oz someday.
until then, I'm hoping to start off with a ship :)

The Clock
I love this. I thought it was just art, but it's functional. I want one.
you can find it at the corner of the DART Akard Station and N. Pacific in downtown Dallas.

Teeny Little Super Guy
I happen to come across a couple of Pancho's glasses at an Antique store. I love them :) use them everyday. they don't hold a whole lot, but they're fun to drink out of :) and I love when I open up my cabinet and see one looking back at me - reminds me of Teeny Little Super Guy.
